Meet the face (and hands) behind @dezignzbymaree. Maree is a milliner based in north Brisbane, Australia and has dedicated her time designing #millinery for the last five years. Maree rediscovered her love for millinery, harnessing her experience, skills, and creativity she had used designing and making wedding dresses, eveningwear, and clothing for many years.

Loving the freedom of design in millinery and finding inspiration in past fashions and nature, Maree considers each piece, a work of art and takes great pleasure in the process of her work. Maree loves using vintage trims and ribbons wherever possible, imagining the previous lives of each item. Every piece is handmade, individual, and unique, which means you will never see two of the same.

Her eye for detail, love for colour, patterns, eclectic design (including mixing antiques, collectables with modern pieces) gives Maree a point a difference in everything she creates. Whether that be in her fashion, interior design or in her headwear. 

In designing millinery, Maree has found her passion, “her happy place” and like everything in her life, she pours her heart and soul into creating vibrant and beautiful headwear for others to enjoy and make them look and feel incredibly special. 

Maree’s gorgeously designed boutique studio is located on the Northside of Brisbane and is open by appointment. Here you will get to see all her amazing designs on display, as well as feel and try on her creations. Maree’s collection includes her race day ready hats, headbands, special occasion pieces, bridal millinery (headpieces and tiaras), and sunhats.
